DE LUXE German course
Our DE LUXE language course is the most intensive German course we offer. Together with an international mix of fellow language learners, your timetable contains 40 tuition hours of language classes per week. Your German course takes place every weekday, combining small group classes (with a maximum of ten students per group) with mini-group classes (with a maximum of five students per group) and two tuition hours per day of individual instruction.

Our DE LUXE German courses are designed for language learners with some previous knowledge of German (A1-C2 levels), who want to considerably improve their German language skills in the shortest time possible. From Monday to Friday, you have eight tuition hours per day, and consequently only a limited amount of free-time for your own exploration of Berlin.
Scope and content:
Your day starts with two hours of individual tuition. These exclusive lessons are designed to address your personal goals and language requirements. This could be an intensive programme related to your profession or career, to help you prepare for a language exam, to improve your German language communication skills, to clarify your understanding of German grammar rules, to develop your German skills for the workplace, or to cover any theme or language topics that you have identified.
Following the one-to-one lesson, you will join your small group for four tuition hours, with a break of fifteen minutes sandwiched between two 90-minute group classes. These small group sessions are split into roughly 50% grammar training and 50% practical usage. Your training thereby ensures that all four of the major language skills (speaking, writing, reading and listening) are developed each day.
After lunch, you will join your mini.-group for an additional two tuition hours. The main focus of the mini-group is project and group work - tasks and activities which quickly improve your speaking, writing and reading skills. The projects change on a weekly basis and are concerned with topics related to German culture, politics, leisure and other aspects of life in Germany and in particular the multi-facetted nature of daily life in Berlin.
Our DE LUXE German course is also taught according to our team-teaching philosophy. This means that you will spend time working with at least two different teachers each week, guaranteeing you a great deal of variety in terms of the voices you will hear, the language you will encounter and the methods of expression you will be exposed to. There is also an advantage for us - what two eyes and two ears might miss, will definitely be noticed by four eyes and four ears. The team-teaching approach means that we will be able to offer you more support and better advice.

Schedule:
The DE LUXE German course normally begins at 08:15 with two tuition hours of individual lessons. This is followed by small group classes from 10:00-13:15. The small group lessons are divided into two blocks of 90 minutes, with a fifteen-minute break separating the sessions.
After a 45-minute lunch break you will join your mini-group for an additional two tuition hours. The mini-group meets every weekday except for Wednesday from 14:00-15:30. In order to make up for these lost hours in the classroom, you are able to choose two of our five special seminars which take place from 09:00-09:45 each morning, and to arrange alternative appointments for the two tuition hours of individual instruction missed as a result of this scheduling.
Depending upon your personal schedule and seasonal factors, changes to this schedule are possible.
Language requirements:
In order to register for the DE LUXE course profile, you will need to have had between 150 and 200 hours of previous German language tuition (at least level A1). Our levels are organised according to the specifications outlined in the • Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. With this minimum level of existing German language knowledge, you are able to start your course on any Monday. Once you have taken our placement test before your first lessons, we will be able to place you in the most suitable groups.
