German courses for students of 50 years and over

Our 50+ German course is designed for motivated learners at all levels: you will develop your German language abilities in a small group with a goal-oriented syllabus. Alongside your language classes, you will have plenty of time to explore and discover Berlin.

The focus of the course is to make yourself understood in everyday situations. We want to provide a look into German culture and lifestyle, for example German festivals and traditions, history, literature, daily life and much more. Grammar and written language are not the main thrust of the lessons. The teachers know the special interests of this target group and have customized the course to fit their needs.

The travel package contains a comprehensive cultural programme in addition to the language course. The programme is adjusted for the seasons and can be changed at short notice if needed.

During 2 weeks, the 50+ programme proposes to you to take 4 German lessons, from Monday to Friday, in a class of a maximum of 10 people. Designed for people of 50 years and over who wish to travel and meet new faces, this programme will allow you to improve your language skills, whilst discovering the culture and history of Berlin. The classes are targeted at oral expression and the topics covered are chosen by the teachers according to the interests of the group.

We advises you to stay with a host family during your language study stay. Effectively, this accommodation option is perfect for immersing yourself in the German culture and putting the language knowledge acquired during your language classes into practice. You will stay in a single room with half board, breakfast only or without meals, according to your choice. Carefully selected by our partner school, the families are situated only 15-30 minutes by public transport from the school.

In addition to the language courses, we offers numerous activities each week, in the afternoons and evenings, in order that you may explore Berlin and its attractions. In addition, a full-day excursion in one of the surrounding towns/cities is foreseen on Saturdays. These different activities are especially designed for the participants in the 50+ programme. In this way, you will be able to discover the capital of Germany and its surroundings in the company of other participants who, like you, are interested in the culture and history of the country they are visiting.
