Berlin - a good place to learn English
The quality of an English course is dependent on the competency and skill of the teacher. That is why only native speaking EFL teachers with year long experience in teaching adults are employed by Prolog.
Our English classes are designed to practice and improve the four basic skills: listening, writing, reading and speaking. Group discussions, role-playing exercises and conversation in the class all lead to an improvement of self-expression, vocabulary building and mastery of grammar in English.
The smaller the group, the more effective the class. For this reason, English courses at Prolog have between three and six participants. And for those who think that even this is too many people we offer English for pairs and individuals.

Interesting facts about English
English is a Germanic language. It belongs, along with German and Dutch, to the western branch of Germanic. Today, English is most the widely spoken language in the world, while Mandarin is the most spoken language in numbers.
English is used in many countries as the first foreign language that is taught in schools and the official langue of most international organisations. Many of these organisations also have other official languages. English is considered a world language.
Today, English is spoken by about 340 million native speakers throughout the world, who are referred to Anglophones. This number of speakers puts English in fourth place behind Mandarin, Hindi and Spanish. English is spoken in the USA, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, South Africa, India, Pakistan and in 98 other countries.
If second language speakers were taken into account, the number of speakers would increase to about 700 million. Due to English's global presence, it has developed numerous variants in different areas of the world. The most well-known and alien variation of English is often referred to as Pidgin English. A pidgin is a simplified language that develops as a means of communication between two or more groups who do not share a common language, in situations, such as trade. Pidgins are not the native language of any speech community, but are instead learned as second languages.
