Learn Japanese in Berlin
The quality of an Japanese course is dependent on the competency and skill of the teacher. That is why only native speaking Japanese teachers with year long experience in teaching adults are employed by Prolog.
The smaller the group, the more effective the class. For this reason, Japanese courses at Prolog have between three and six participants. And for those who think that even this is too many people we offer Japanese for pairs and individuals.
Our Japanese classes are designed to practice and improve the four basic skills: listening, writing, reading and speaking. Group discussions, role-playing exercises and conversation in the class all lead to an improvement of self-expression, vocabulary building and mastery of grammar in Japanese.

Interesting facts about Japanese
With around 130 million speakers Japanese currently takes ninth place in the ranking of the world's most widely spoken languages. Apart from being spoken in Japan itself there are about 200,000 speakers in the continental United States, 220,000 in Hawaii and around 380,000 speakers in South America (primarily in Brazil).
Three large immigration waves spanning from the end of the nineteenth century to the middle of the twentieth century are responsible for this strong constituency of Japanese speakers throughout the Americas. It is also estimated that 4.9 percent of all websites on the World Wide Web are in Japanese - fourth place after English, German and French.
Both the origin and classification of Japanese are intensely disputed among researchers even to this day. The only thing that has been “proven“ is that Japanese and Ryūkyūan (the language spoken on the Ryūkyū Islands) are closely related and together form the Japonic language family. Many researchers, however, consider Ryūkyūan to be simply a dialect of Japanese.
The first reason for this state of affairs is that the oldest remaining text in Japanese, the Kojiki, dates from the eighth century AD. Any statements made about the Japanese language prior to this text are therefore based entirely on unreliable linguistic reconstructions or deductions from archaeological or genetic studies.
The second problem confronting researchers also has roots in the unclear origins of the language. Japanese shares many typological and syntactical similarities with Korean and other Manchu-Tungusic languages. However, the phonetics and pure Japanese vocabulary (in comparison to words and pronunciation borrowed from Chinese) show little, and according to some researchers no, resemblance to these Altaic languages.
