INTENSIV-German course

Our STANDARD courses are designed to enable you to improve your German speaking, listening, writing and reading skills. Alongside this skills focus you will continually improve your knowledge and understanding of German grammar and expand your vocabulary. In a combination of individual, pair and group tasks, you will consolidate what you have learned through modern and communicative activities, tasks and exercises.

The extra five lessons per week focus predominantly on spoken communication. The methods we use allow you to gain immediate and practical experience of the German language and mean that what you learn stays with you on a long-term basis. You can choose between two main topic areas • Communication & Culture or Business & Career.

From 10:00 to 13:15 you will take part in group STANDARD lessons, split into two 90-minute blocks with a 15-minute break in the middle. The break doesn't mean you lose valuable time for improving your language skills - it is the perfect time to meet and greet students from other courses or practice some of what you've just learned in a relaxed environment with your fellow students.

Following the STANDARD lessons, from 13:30-14:15, is your INTENSIV lesson with targeted training of spoken communication.

To join our INTENSIVE courses you need to have been learning German for between 150 and 200 hours (the beginning of the A2 level). The levels at ESL PROLOG - Berlin are those of the • Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Based upon the results of your placement test, we will allocate you to the most suitable group prior to the start of your course.
