COMBI 10 German course
On your COMBI 10 language course, you will spend 30 tuition hours per week developing your German language skills together with fellow language learners from all over the world. The course takes place every work day (Monday to Friday) in small groups with between five and ten students. To help you learn and develop more rapidly, you will also have two tuition hours per day with your own, personal German language instructor.

The COMBI 10 language course is designed with very ambitious learners of all levels of ability in mind - you will develop and broaden your repertoire of skills in a targeted manner which reflects your level. These concentrated individual lessons offer you the daily benefit of exclusive language training, designed to meet your needs and expectations directly.
Scope and content:
Each day begins with four tuition hours in your small group and is structured to give a 90-minute session looking at a grammar topic followed by a fifteen minute break and then a second 90-minute session which gives you the chance to put what you have learned to good use with group, pair or individual communicative activities and tasks. Our language courses focus on developing the four main language skills: speaking, writing, reading and listening in German.
Adding to the highly-motivated atmosphere within the class are the specially chosen, topical themes which you will investigate, discuss and learn about. These themes, all related to Germany, are used to build the framework of the course within which the German language can be learned and practised.
Following a lunch break, you will have a further two tuition hours of individual lessons. Your individual tuition is geared explicitly towards your personal wishes. We can develop a course to help you train an area of German related specifically to your career, or to train intensively for an exam you will be taking, help you improve your German language communication skills, or improve your Business German, or any other area in which you feel you need extra help.
We believe that our team teaching system, whereby you will receive tuition from more than a single teacher per week, helps to prevent you becoming too familiar with a single voice, outlook or communication style. You will benefit from a variety of stimuli, a wider range of interests and different methods of expression. A further benefit is that working together with more than a single teacher means that we are better at evaluating and assessing your development and identifying areas which might need more study or practice.

Schedule:
The COMBI 10 course starts the day with two small-group sessions, from 10:00-13:15. Between the two sessions there is a fifteen minute break which will give you an extra chance to practice your communication skills with students from other groups.
After a 45-minute lunch break, it's time for your individual tuition. The two tuition hours (90 minutes) of one-to-one lessons take place every day except for Wednesdays, between 14:00 and 15:30. There is a good reason why there is no afternoon tuition on Wednesdays - our culture programme.
Still, we don't want you to miss out on anything, so you have your individual class on Wednesday morning instead. Changes to this schedule are possible to take into account your personal requirements or seasonal factors.
Language requirements:
It is not necessary to have learnt any German previously in order to enrol on the COMBI 10 course. Beginners can start on the first Monday of any month; students with previous knowledge of the German language can begin on any Monday. You are placed in an appropriate group following the results of your placement test which is taken before your first classes. Our groups are organised according to the levels set out in the • Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
